University of Providence announces Study Buddy Scholarships

Private, Catholic University of Providence in Great Falls has announced the availability of Study Buddy Scholarships for students who enroll and begin the Master of Healthcare Administration or Master of Science in nursing, nurse educator program in January 2020.

People may apply for these one-time $2,500 scholarships, which will be applied to the tuition due for summer 2020 courses. Not only can the Study Buddy Scholarships ease the way financially for both students, but the buddies can also support each other while pursuing their online graduate degrees.

In announcing the scholarship, Deborah Burton, Ph.D., vice president for the university’s School of Health Professions and Chief Nursing Officer for Providence Health, said, “This scholarship continues the legacy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence, and their focus on health and education. Our online graduate health programs are designed for working professionals. We want to support students who have decided to return to school as part of their career development plans.”

The timing of the scholarship is essential, Burton added.

“We know that many students are balancing family, employment and personal responsibilities. Summer schedules can add to these pressures,” she said. “This new scholarship reiterates our commitment to working professionals.”

There are two ways to qualify for the scholarship. Students working toward their MHA or MSN, who have been admitted or enrolled to begin their degree program in January 2020, may refer a friend who enrolls. Individuals who have not yet been accepted or enrolled for January 2020 may enroll with a friend. The deadline to complete all enrollment steps is Dec. 15.
