Worship night with coffee will be held Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 to 11 p.m. at The Press Espresso Bar with music featuring local talent Kenny Atkins, Katelynn Montagino and Kimmi Boyce.
“It is a coffee and worship night for the community to enjoy and worship together,” Fifth Avenue Christian Church worship leader Atkins said.
“I see this night of worship as coming together in a really beautiful way,” Assembly of God youth group worship leader Montagino said. “I hope that people can come and feel not only warm because of the coffee, but feel the warmth and joy from the words we are singing.”
Music featured at worship night will from Bethel Music out of California, Hillsong Worship out of Australia, Elevation Worship of North Carolina, some old hymns and more.
Atkins will be playing electric guitar and acting as a worship leader alongside Boyce and Montagino.
Montagino will be playing the guitar as well as singing, and Boyce will be singing and harmonizing.
“I am super-excited to be a part of this night of worship,” Montagino said. “I love how music brings people together. When music is around you can’t help but gather and join in. There is so much that is going on in this world right now, so many stressful things. Taking a night to come together and sing songs of praise, I pray, will be a blessing and give hope to this community.”
Worship night at The Press is free and open to the public.
“Worship night is important because of unity in a community that seems distant at times,” Atkins said.
“Trying out this worship night in a place so public like The Press is important because the sweet comforting music can welcome people into community and unity (like Kenny said) and will show people that worship music isn’t just for inside the church walls,” Boyce said. “It’s for every day, wherever we are. It’s uplifting and inspiring. ”
