Sax Cadillac playing at Old Station Brewing

Havre band Sax Cadillac & the Other Brothers and Sistas Band is performing at Old Station Brewing Co. Friday from 6 to 9.m.

“On this one, for what we are going to do is we are mixing the Motown (music) and the Halloween songs together,” Kirt Miller of Sax Cadillac & the Other Brothers and Sistas Band said.

Miller said songs featured in the performance are “I Put a Spell On You,” “Witch Doctor,” “My Girl,” “Stand By Me” and more.

Sax Cadillac & the Other Bros and Sistas Band features eight members with each member playing at least one instrument, depending on the song, he said. Miller plays the keyboard, guitar, flute and saxophone and sings. Lyle Lossing plays the bass guitar. Peter Suci plays the cello. Kris Shaw plays the violin, mandolin, banjo and dulcimer and sings. Fred Halett plays the guitar and harmonica and sings. Dan Dolph plays lead guitar. Mandi Nystrom plays the electric guitar and sings, and Charles Spolar does percussion.

“Some of us started in 2000 and some started later, but it’s been an ongoing thing for a long time,” he said.

Miller said he attended University of Montana where he earned a degree in music and he said the school taught him how to play pretty much every instrument.

He added that he used to own a music store for 10 to 12 years where what is now Gram’s Ice Cream and Candy Shoppe.

People can follow the band on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pg/saxcadillac/about .

“What I want people to know about the band is that we love to play and that is what our focus is,” Miller said.
