Havre Ice Hawks is having their 15th annual Havre Youth Hockey Banquet Friday at 6 p.m. at the Havre Eagles Club.
“A Spooktacular Night Out,” banquet organizer Jenna Holt said. “The banquet itself is basically fundraiser to support our Havre youth hockey club.”
She added that the organization puts on this banquet to also help keep the costs of registration low. Havre has the lowest cost program in the state for hockey.
Havre Youth Hockey Association President Dominique Preputin said the cost is $120 for the year for the association’s 8-and-younger category.
The banquet includes a night of games, a silent auction, a live auction and more.
“The money raised at the banquet through ticket sales, the live and silent auctions and raffle items will help defer this year’s registration costs,” Preputin said. “We are asking for any donations, items or gift certificates that will help to add either to our live or silent auction.”
She added that the money will also help to purchase a new Zamboni ice resurfacer for the Havre Ice Dome.
Tickets are available at $35 each or $300 for a reserved table for eight. People can purchase tickets by contacting Holt, jenname9@gmail.com, or by going to the group Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Havre-Ice-Hawks-138239727544/ or any hockey player.
Items featured at both auctions will feature donations from the local businesses around Havre and some outside of town, including trip packages, ladies packages, gun donations, dinner and tasting packages, jewelry and more
Holt said that this past week a hockey camp was held which helped in the growth and development within the youth who are in the program and has been able to attract more children to the program.
She said this is her second year involved in the program because both of her children play hockey, but it’s her first year involved in the organization of the banquet.
“I think the banquet is huge; watching our program grow every year is important,” Holt said. “My kids love it.”
She added that anybody involved in Havre ice hockey can be involved in helping with the banquet.
Preputin said 80 children and 30 adults are in for the 2019-2020 season.

“I want people to come out, have a good time and enjoy it,” Holt said. “Dress up in your favorite costume, they’d love to see them, that’s kind of a big feature of it is that we love to see people come and get dressed up with their friends. We will also have prizes for best-dressed.”
