Dionne was born on December 10, 1976, in Great Falls. She was a fun, energetic, independent, curly-haired little girl who loved people. Dionne loved summertime, and her favorite part of summer when she was young was when her friend Jamie would visit her from Texas. Dionne loved being a big sister to her two younger sisters and loved to dress up her younger cousins. She also had a strong love for animals, especially dogs, and would often bring them home. Dionne loved music, singing, and dancing, and especially loved getting dressed up for a special occasion like high school proms.
Dionne attended high school at Blue Sky High in Rudyard. She was extremely social and made friends wherever she was, especially through sporting events. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make them laugh and be the life of the party.
Dionne spent most of her free time at home tying up the phone line talking to all the friends she made. She went on to attend college at Carroll in Helena, and then finished her education in Cheney, WA, where she obtained her master's degree in social work with a minor in psychology.
Dionne loved to help people try to fix their problems; this is why she chose the career she did. Unfortunately, because of her disease, she could not seem to help herself. Like the independent little girl she was, Dionne did life her way, even when no one around her could understand why.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Chris and Pearl Richter and Bill Strissel.
Dionne is survived by her parents, Denise and Lowell Strissel of Hingham; sisters Davilyn (Chad) McCormick of Kremlin and Natalie Strissel of Helena; grandmother Betty Strissel of Rudyard; partner Justin Melby of Havre; niece and nephews Quincy, Ethan and Eli McCormick, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
