Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Dylan Young, Havre High X-Country

The Havre Blue Ponies weren’t able to host their cross country invitational Saturday, but they still got some work in. The Ponies traveled to the Scottie Invitational in Glasgow, where the HHS boys won the team title. That title came on the strength of Dylan Young’s fourth-place finish in the boys race. Young, who has been Havre’s top runner all season, crossed the finish line in an outstanding time of 17:15. Young and the Ponies continue their season at Thursday’s Helena Invitational.

L'Tia Lawrence, Harlem X-Country

With the heavy snows melted away from Beaver Creek Golf Course, the Box Elder Cross Country Invitational was held Monday, and Harlem’s L’Tia Lawrence felt right at home. Lawrence won the girls race in convincing fashion Monday, after finishing second at the Scottie Invite Saturday. Lawrence is a returning All-State runner for the Wildcats, who also happens to be a star on the basketball court. She will continue her basketball career next fall at Montana State University-Northern.
