For the second time this fall, the Havre High football team has lost a scheduled Oct. 11 game.
Havre High Activities Director Dennis Murphy said that Glendive has officially pulled out of a non-conference game with the Blue Ponies, which was set for Friday night in Havre.
The game was originally planned due to Havre losing a home game when Livingston decided to forfeit the remainder of its 2019 season.
Following the Livingston forfeit, which was originally planned as HHS' homecoming game, Murphy was able to work with Glendive and schedule a non-conference rematch between the Blue Ponies and Red Devils. Havre already beat Glendive in their scheduled Eastern A game back on Sept. 6.
However, Glendive head coach and athletic director Ryan Buckley sent an email out over the weekend, canceling the game with Havre, citing depth issues and player availability as the main reasons.
The loss of this Friday's game means Havre has just one home game left, an Oct. 25 homecoming battle with Lewistown. The Blue Ponies are currently 2-3 on the season, and are coming off their bye week, which means, when Havre heads to Billings Central Oct. 18, the Ponies will have been off since a loss at Miles City back on Sept. 27.
