Laura Rain and the Caesars are performing live at Old Station Brewing Co. Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m., just a few days after a Montana band will travel to Havre to perform.
"We are really excited to be in Havre again, we are so fortunate and people were so great to us last time that we are looking forward to it," Rain said.
She added that her and the band were in Havre just over a year ago, 2018, and this year, they will be performing some new songs from their upcoming album. She said that the plan is to have the album released either in the coming winter or spring season.
Jared Stewart, a band based out of Crow Agency, lists artists like Zakk Wilde, Ian Moore, Gary Moorea and SRV as inspirations and is playing at Old Station Saturday.
Laura Rain and the Caesars have a total of four albums they will also be performing songs from. Their first album is called "Electrified" and was released in 2013, followed by their second album, "Closer," in 2014, their third album, "Gold," came out in 2015, and their most recent "Walk with Me," in 2017.
Rain said she is from the Detroit area and added that she has a musical background and is classically trained.
"Music chose me," she said. "I've been singing since I was little."
She said the the band is centered around Detroit music, which she said incorporates retro rock 'n' roll, with an energy of The Stooges.
"We are primarily a soul band, but we incorporate all the great things about Detroit music, so rock, R&B, blues and we do our thing," Rain said. "All of our songs are original, we don't record any covers, so we do our interpretation of Detroit music."
Artists such as Chaka Khan, Buddy Guy, Al Green and Patti Labelle are few of the artists she said inspire the band's music.
Rain said Havre is the band's fourth stop in their fall tour, and from here they will be on their way up to Canada to Edmonton, Alberta, for six shows, then to British Columbia, then down to Washington and then back home to Detroit.
She added that their current fall tour will be their last tour till their next album is released and then will be back on the road.
"This is what we do, following our destiny and giving music to the people," Rain said. "I love performing for a living and I love bringing music to people who want to hear it."
