Halloween Corner opens in Havre

A new Halloween store opened in Havre.

Halloween Corner with a selection of costumes was opened by First Street Mane Attraction Monday at 1401 First Street.

Halloween Corner will be open every day from now through the first weekend of November from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cathi Campanella, her husband, Stan Martin, and family operated Halloween Corner.

"It's kind of a family thing," Cathi Campanella said.

She added that the store has more than 800 costumes of all sizes, masks, treats such as kettle corn and popcorn balls and other items with everything  25 percent off.

She said this is her first year opening a shop like this and if it does well she will continue to do it annually.

"Watch for crazy people out front," she said, laughing.

Also, Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m., Halloween Corner is hosting a pumpkin carving contest

Three different age categories will compete, for three different prizes.

The adult category is for people 18 and older with a prize of $200, then a teen category for ages 13-17 with a prize of $50 and then a kids category for children 12 and younger with a prize of $25.

Campanella's son Kody said the pumpkin needs to be already carved and will be judged on creativity and uniqueness.

"We really hope to see a lot of participants in the pumpkin carving contest," he said. "It would be really nice to fill this corner up with pumpkins, it would be pretty cool."
