The Friends of the Library book sale and Anka's Treasures Trunk Show have kicked off Havre Festival Days events already, but the weekend events start tonight, with one of the main events, the parade Saturday at 10 a.m.
The parade, dedicated this year in honor of Havre businessman and community supporter Scott Young, who died July 25, runs down Fifth Avenue and turns west on Third Street, ending up near the Havre post office.
People are reminded not to park on that section of Third Street Saturday morning to allow for the parade.
Also again this year, downtown will feature vendors Saturday in addition to the usual craft and commercial exhibits in Holiday Village Mall.
The weekend events kick off today, including the Festival of Quilts in the Holiday Village Mall, the Steve Heil Memorial Car Show on Fourth Avenue, 48-Hour Softball Tournament at Sixth Avenue Memorial Field, Montana State University-Northern College Rodeo in the Bigger Better Barn at the Great Northern Fairgrounds, the Havre Eagles Club Burger Feed and a street dance on the 100 Block of Second Avenue.
A full day of events including the parade kick off Saturday with the Kiwanis Pancake Feed at the Eagles Club at 7 a.m., the last Saturday Market of the year at Town Square, free sight-in days at Hill County Shooting Sports Range at 8 a.m., and the CASA Fifth Avenue Mile premiering just before the parade.
