Hill County Commission lifted the burn ban in the county Thursday, effective at 12:01 p.m.
Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said due to the amount of moisture the county has received, the ban isn’t necessary at this time, so the burn ban has been lifted.
Blaine County has had a burn ban in effect since July 27 and the commissiones lifted their county’s burn ban Friday.
Blaine County Commissioner Frank DePriest said the county also lifted its burn ban due to the amount of moisture received.
“The area has ceased to have our weekly fire calls, and we are assuming that the big fire danger is past us,” DePriest said.
Replies to requests for comment from Liberty and Chouteau counties about their counties’ burn ban status were not received by printing deadline today.
When asked in early July, those counties did not have burn bans in place.
