Local Golf Report: Congrats to all area league champions

From tee to Green

And just like that, the 2019 league golf season in Havre is over.

Last week, both at Prairie Farms Golf Course and Beaver Creek Golf Course, league championships were handed out - or earned to put it precisely.

The men's league title at Prairie Farms came down to an 18-hole match between my guys on Korb Construction and the boys of D.A. Davidson. And between nine holes Wednesday and another nine Friday, D.A.D. prevailed 37-35. The winning team was composed of Ric Floren, Frank Peterson, Dave Herman and Barry Zanto, and also included Dave Greenwood and Jim Wirt. Congrats, gentlemen. Job well done.

I'd also like to thank all my guys on Korb Construction. It was a great season, and I had a blast with you boys. Till next year.

Two more league championships were decided last Thursday night.

At Prairie Farms, ladies league held its championship match with Northern Montana Hospital defeating Independence Bank in the chipper. NMH was composed of Mary Pizzini, Patti Nault, Carol Culp and Terri Earl. Great job, ladies, and congrats on the 2019 ladies league championship.

Finally, at BCGC last Thursday night, New Concept Lawn beat Gram's Ice Cream in the men's league championship. New Concept Lawn was made up of Nick Turner, Justin Hawley, Shane Patacsil and Bobby Bergren. In the consolation final. Nalivka's beat RJS Associates for third place. Nalivka's was made up of Paul Jensen, Matt Jensen, Tanner Veis and Logan Pike. Congrats to all the champions and BCGC this season. Job well done fellas.

Of course, with league golf in the books, things will be winding down at all of our courses. But there's still plenty of big events left.

This Sunday, the Men's Club Championship will be held at BCGC, while the Women's Club Championship will be played at Prairie Farms. And next Sunday, the Men's Club Championship will be played at Prairie Farms. Members at both courses can still sign up.

Lastly, with the golf season starting to wind down, I have two things: 1. I hope we have some great fall golf weather, but 2. this column will only run for three more weeks, so if anybody has something they would like to get in before it goes away for another long, nasty winter, they need to email me at [email protected] and let me know.
