Death by Chocolate set for Sept. 14

Montana Actors’ Theatre’s 11th Annual Death by Chocolate is set for Saturday, Sept. 14, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus School Havre Central Gymnasium.

Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and will be prepared by the St. Jude’s Booster Club.

Death by Chocolate is the main Montana Actors’ Theatre fundraiser for the year, with a night filled with food, drinks, games, raffles and of course chocolate.

“It is a good mix of fundraising and fun activities,” MAT Marketing Director Andi Daniel said.

MAT Executive Director Jay Pyette said the purpose of the event is to have fun and to raise money and support for MAT’s upcoming season.

“Our theater operates year-round and there isn’t a theater in the world that can make it on ticket sales alone, so this is a pretty important night for us,” he added.

Every year, the fundraiser centers around a theme — this year’s theme is space, from “Star Wars” to “Star Trek” to “Galaxy Quest” to just about every space theme mixed into this event.

Costumes are encouraged.

Tickets are available at http://www.mtactors.com at $40 for a single or $75 for a couple. Tickets are also available at fivehead’s, Computer Center and Bear Paw Meats.

People can also reserve a table for eight — $800 for a Captain Kirk Table and $500 for a Jedi Table, each with its own set of perks.

“It is a fun time and the food is always wonderful,” Daniel said.

“We feel MAT is a pretty important part of the fabric of Havre, but to continue operating, we need support. This is a way for people to show that,” Pyette said. “On top of that … they will have a good time, see lots of people, eat great food and be entertained.”
