Editor,
This letter is in regards to an article that ran in the Havre Daily News Aug. 15, 2019, Page A3.
Congratulations to the Montana State University alumnus and faculty member for winning a regional Emmy award. I am sure their parents are very proud.
We have a son, Ryan Widdekind, who also won a regional Emmy award in 2017, presented by the Northwest Chapter of he National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Seattle.
Ryan grew up in Havre, graduated from Havre High and from the University of Montana with a journalism degree.
No one at the paper seemed to care about doing an article about a hometown boy doing something pretty amazing two years ago. My husband went down to the Havre Daily News, talked to a reporter and even showed him a picture of my son with his Emmy. He could have cared less.
Not sure why people, whom nobody knows, get an article and a picture. Are they more important than someone from Havre?
Proud parents
Sue and Dave Widdekind
