Jordan Cole Hofland was sentenced to three years probation after he pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to crashing a vehicle after huffing Dust-Off.
Hofland was charged with felony counts criminal endangerment and criminal mischief and a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs after people reported a blue Chevrolet pickup truck Oct. 24, 2017, crashed into a tree on the 500 Block of 14th Street, uprooting the tree, then crashed into a black pickup truck, pushing that truck into a residence and damaging the residence.
Officers investigating found the blue pickup but not the driver, and found a can of Dust-Off in the vehicle.
Hofland later was brought back to the scene. He told investigating officers he had blacked out and panicked and ran after crashing.
Tests showed presence of tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana, as well as the active ingredient in Dust-Off in his blood.
He pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to the felony criminal mischief charge May 6.
State District Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz in court in Havre imposed a three-year deferred imposition of sentence on Hofland June 17 and ordered him to pay $3,250 in restitution and fees and other fees and surcharges.
If Hofland abldes by all conditions of his release, after the deferred imposition he can request to have the felony struck from his record.
