Kermit Lee Courchane, 66, passed away at his residence Friday, August 23, 2019, due to natural causes.
Wake services began Sunday, August 25, 2019, and will continue until his funeral, which will be at 11:00 a.m. today, Monday, August 26, 2019, all at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Kermit was born April 30, 1953, in Great Falls to Mary Ann Courchane. He was raised in Great Falls and joined the military at age 17, serving as a communications officer. While in the military, Kermit earned one of the highest clearances in the nation while stationed in Germany. He returned stateside to pursue an education in the medical field as an orthopedic specialist. Following his honorable discharge, Kermit worked for the U.S. Postal Service for a time before turning his attention to Burlington Northern Railway, where he worked as a railway official. While in Denver, Colorado, Kermit became a federal police officer. He then worked as a cross-country driver before returning home for an early retirement.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Courchane, and his mother, Mary Ann Courchane.
Kermit is survived by his daughter, Kerry (T.J. Cyr) Courchane of Anaconda; six grandchildren; sister, Shelley Wuerl; brothers, Greg (Nancy) Courchane and Harvey (Mary) Dustrude; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
Kermit was loved and will be missed. Until we meet again, my beautiful father, I am truly proud of you.
