Authorities have released the name of an 18-year-old man from the Harlem-Dodson area who was pronounced dead on the scene of a crash near Dodson Tuesday morning.
Phillips County Sheriff Jerry Lytle said Caleb Arthur Ditmar was the driver of the vehicle who died as a result of injuries sustained in the one-vehicle crash.
Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred about 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 when Ditmar apparently fell asleep and the vehicle drifted off the roadway. He awoke and overcorrected, and the wheels of the vehicle dug into soft dirt, Highway Patrol reported.
The vehicle rolled multiple times and came to rest in a field.
Ditmar was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
