It's an exciting time for the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team, with the Skylight's first training camp under new head coach Jerry Wagner set to begin later this week.
Meanwhile, Monday afternoon, the Frontier Conference announced its 2019 Frontier Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll, where the Skylights were picked to finish sixth.
Northern received nine votes in the poll, which was topped by the University of Providence Argos. The Argos received four first-place votes, while Rocky Mountain College, the defending Frontier champions, received three. Montana Tech was picked fourth in the poll, followed by Carroll College, Lewis-Clark State, Northern and Montana Western.
Northern is set to begin training camp Thursday, and will hold its annual Maroon-Gold Scrimmage Aug. 15, before hosting Medicine Hat College Aug. 15 inside the Armory Gymnasium. Northern also hosts its Alumni Match Aug. 16 inside the Armory, as well.
