From Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line
Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line, in partnership with Bullhook Blossoms Garden Club, earned an Award of Excellence and a $100 prize from the Montana Federation of Garden Clubs at its June annual convention in Miles City.
Jody Olson, Paulette Cronk, Linda Hoines and Lela Patera of the Bullhook Blossoms presented the award and the $100 check Tuesday to the Boys & Girls Club and its Garden Club. The money will be used to expand the club's gardening opportunities.
Bullhook Blossoms Garden Club is a longtime supporter of the Havre Boys & Girls Club. In addition to helping the kids plant the club garden each year, the Blossoms have also designed and donated a tree several times to the Festival of Trees, the club's annual gala fundraiser in late November.
Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line incorporates the produce grown in its garden - including onions, tomatoes, peppers and fresh herbs, among others - into its meal menu and snacks served to the youths at the club.
