News you can use
Editor,
“Havre, it’s the People” was brought to light once again this past week. Last Wednesday, Gary & Leo’s experienced an electrical fire in our refrigeration compressor building.
The IGA and HealthMart crew, led by Brenda Friede, assistant store manager, quickly assessed the situation and jumped into action. Because of their efforts, our customers were evacuated and most all our perishable product was protected and saved. I’m also happy to report that no one was injured.
In addition to that, we were fortunate enough to have Dave Rhines and his crew from Schine Electric as well as Ed Kreiman from Havre Refrigeration quickly arrive at the scene. These gentlemen worked tirelessly into the early morning hours until most of our refrigerated systems were back on line. Without their extraordinary effort, tenacity and pride … our store would not have been able to serve our customers the next day.
Too often these kinds of efforts go unrecognized, but not today. The heart and soul of our community was on full display last week — that being hard working friends, neighbors and staff looking out for one another when the pressure is on and the task is at hand.
Perhaps there are warmer and prettier places to live but you might be hard pressed to find a community with a higher level of pride and character. I offer a sincere “Thank You” to everyone involved!
