Zonie was born September 21, 1931,, in Belfield, North Dakota, to Joseph and Anna (Paladuchic) Paluck. She was from a very large family. She was raised and educated in Belfield. Her mother died when she was a young girl and she was raised by her stepmother.
Zonie worked at Buttrey's Coffee Shop for over 27 years, where she enjoyed her customers and got to meet everyone. She married Joseph Zygmond September 22, 1956; one day after her birthday. The couple were married at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre with Father Penna officiating. Zonie volunteered at the Senior Center, Northern Montana Hospital and also at St. Jude Church. She worked at the Black Butte Country Club, where Joe loved to play golf. Zonie and Joe didn't have any children of their own, but were claimed by many kids as their second grandparents in Havre.
Zonie was a simple person, not fancy and didn't have any wants. She and Joe had food to eat and clothes to wear and that was all she needed. She enjoyed working her word puzzles, she said it kept her mind healthy. She was a very clean and orderly person nothing was out of place. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and even took second place at nationals.
