News you can use
Dear Havre Community,
Thank you to all our community partners who supported our Sticker Shock campaign July 2-4. If you purchased alcohol or pizza over those three days, you may have noticed a blue and white label on the box encouraging you to “Keep It Legal.” These stickers, designed by our 11- to 14-year-old prevention group at the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line and the SAAM — Substance Abuse and Misuse — Coalition, reminded consumers that it is illegal to purchase for, or give alcohol to, youth under 21. This project aims to reduce underage drinking, by limiting youth access to alcohol.
As alcohol continues to be the most-abused drug among youth in Hill County, we continue to ask adults for their support in controlling this drug. Alcohol can greatly impact the decision making of our youth as well as the development of their brain during this adolescent time.
Special thanks to the following businesses for their participation:
Gary & Leo’s Fresh Foods
Cenex — two locations
Walmart
The Pro
Farmers Union Oil
Pizza Hut
McLean’s Grocery
Holiday
Dominos
Town Pump
Nalivka’s
Stromberg Sinclair
Red’s Auto Electric
Sincerely,
