From Montana Actors’ Theatre
The Montana Actors’ Theatre KidsMAT program will be holding a children’s theater camp in Chinook July 15-18.
This year, campers will perform a scripted play, “Snow White,” instead of an original show written by the children.
Campers will have a chance to create stories during the day.
KidsMAT is a unique theatre experience for younger children. The one-week camp offers children 5-15 the chance to learn essential teamwork and leadership skills, by allowing them the chance to create their own story, set and costumes. Each day is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a performance Thursday at 7 p.m.
The registration fee for each camp is $50 for the first child and $30 for each additional child in the family. Children must bring a sack lunch each day, but other snacks will be provided. Registration fees include a water bottle and t-shirt. Space is limited.
Online registration for Havre and Chinook camps is available at https://form.jotform.com/mtactors/kidsmat/.
Registration is also available the first day of camp.
End of camp performance is at Chinook High School July 18 at 7 p.m. with free admission. Everyone is welcome.
The MAT youth production of “She Kills Monsters” is slated for July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3 with the show starting at 8 p.m. each night in Cowan Hall’s Little Theatre on the Montana State University-Northern campus.
This show contains teen and young adult themes and may not be suitable for younger children.
The KidsMAT camps continue with another camp in Havre starting July 29, in Hays-Lodge Pole Aug. 5 and a final Havre camp starting Aug. 12.
