Fund Raiser: We will be preparing for our spring/summer fund raiser. Be watching for information as to when. If you would like to donate items or time to help with it, please let us know.

There are a lot of scam calls being made trying to get your personal information. Know this, Medicare and Social Security will not call you. Keep checking Medicare bills against your hospital and doctor statements. We are finding a lot of errors. Do not give any identifiable information out to anyone calling you. Make sure they get no information. Hang up. If you need help call the Senior Center or the police.

Commodities: Be sure to remember to pick up your commodities the end of each month, we will always call you when they come in. If you need to renew application come in to see Marci. Make sure we have your updated phone numbers so we can call you.

Congregate/Meals on Wheels Price Increase: Meals will increase to $5 July 1. This is the first meals increase in price since 2007. It has been more than 12 years since an increase.

Bone Mass measurement: One thing you can do is talk to your doctor to see if you need a bone mass measurement. If you’re at risk for osteoporosis, Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers this test once every 24 months — more often if medically necessary — when your doctor or other qualified provider orders it. This test helps to see if you’re at risk for broken bones.
