Milk River Gobblers award scholarships

From Milk River Gobblers

Milk River Gobblers Club of Havre announced it distributed four scholarships this year with a total value of $1,500.

Tyler Jason Wanken of CJI High School in Chester and Kourtney Hanson of Chinook High School each were awarded $500 scholarships.

Abigail Morse and August R. Eacker, both of Havre High School, each received a $250 scholarship.

“Thanks to all applicants, and the Milk River Gobblers wish you all the best in your career goals,” the Gobblers said in a press release.

The Gobblers normally award two $500 scholarships, but said that because of “an outstanding turnout at this February’s banquet, we were able to award two additional $250 scholarships.”

The scholarships are awarded to people interested in pursuing some type of outdoor wildlife degree. Applications are accepted from schools running from Chester to Malta and south to Big Sandy including Box Elder and Rocky Boy.

The scholarship competition is open to both boys and girls and will be awarded annually. Two $500 scholarships are planned for each year with exceptions possibly if extra funding is available.

People interested in applying for the scholarship in 2020 should contact their local school office or call Milk River Gobblers Treasurer Jason Wanken at 390-1542.
