The Havre Youth Baseball Association season is in full swing in Havre and the first of many city championships were decided Wednesday night as the Babe Ruth league played the championship game of its double-elimination tournament at Legion Field.
FLC, Frank Leeds Construction, ended up winning the Babe Ruth city championship after defeating Optimist twice Monday night.
FLC came through the losers bracket to reach the championship game and won the first game against Optimist to force a second, winner-take-all title game, which FLC won 8-7.
The FLC team was coached by Frank Leeds and Shane Reno. The roster featured Daeshaun Bullshield, Laden Caplette, Ciaran Courtnage, Adam Habeger, Connor Henderson, Carter Leeds, Carson Lunak, Trenton Maloughney, Kale Reno, Kelly Schafer, Terick Shipp, Tristan Stygles and Jason Wold.
The team representing Optimist, which was coached by Randy Cloninger, finished second and did so with a roster of Ethan Carlson, Tommy Champagne, Eli Cloninger, Logan Cloniger, Brenden Fetter, Landen Keeling, Conner McKay, Danny McKenzie, Tavish McLean, Collin Miller, Brisbin Reiter, Orion Thivierge and Stephen Topsky.
Bear Paw Precast finished third in the tournament and the team of Harvest Moon Lanes finished fourth.
