Eva Horvath, long-time resident of Havre, passed away on June 3, 2019.
She was born June 7, 1925, in Vasvár, Hungary, to Maria and Steve Raskow. She was raised and educated in her hometown and later worked as a bookkeeper in a local store.
She married Laszlo Horvath September 1, 1946. Their only child, Suzie, was born in July 1948 and Eva stayed home to raise her. During the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, they escaped from Hungary with her parents and arrived in the United States later that year. She was happy to be reunited with her only sister, Vilma, in Billings in early 1957. She and her family moved to Havre in 1965 because they wanted to establish their own business. Laszlo first worked as a TV repairman at Buttrey's. In 1976, they opened Hi-Line TV Sales & Service. Eva worked with her husband in the business until he retired in 1995.
Eva loved cooking and baking and taking care of her beautiful roses. She had endless love for her grandchildren. She felt very lucky that her daughter and family lived next door to her and they were able to help each other.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Suzie Larsen. She is survived by her grandchildren, Meagan and Tyler Larsen of Havre, and her son-in-law, Ron Larsen of Rudyard. Also surviving her are her nieces, Judy (Roger) Rothrock and Erika (Leon) Giles of Portland, Oregon.
Cremation has taken place. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
