A rainy forecast for the weekend is changing the venue of a new offering from Montana Actors’ Theater, its Spring into the Past Festival.
MAT moved its production of “Cyrano de Bergerac” to June in an attempt to find better weather to hold it in conjunction with a festival, but the forecast has shot down that attempt.
Highs are expected to stay in the 80s today through Thursday, then cool, rainy weather is expected to hit Thursday night with highs predicted in the 60s Friday and 40s Saturday with a 20 percent chance of rain Friday and rain likely Saturday.
Due to the forecast, MAT announced it will move its festival into the Student Union Building at Northern, rather than holding the festival and productions of the play in the amphitheater behind Pershing Hall as originally planned.
The preview, with limited vendors, is set to start at 5 p.m. Friday and the full festival will begin Saturday at 4 p.m.
The productions of the play will start at 7 p.m. both nights.
Admission is free due to the help of sponsors, and the festival is slated to include entertainment, games. face painting, tarot readings, traditional craft demonstrations and vendors with food, beer and wine, arts, and crafts.
