Sophomore Maya Watson is one of Havre High School's students of the month for May 2019.
The daughter of Rob and Mel Watson, Maya has one older sibling, Cole, 19.
Maya participates in the Havre High drama program, while outside of school she spends her time hanging out with family and friends. Her hobbies and interests include acting, singing and being outside.
Maya was nominated by Lauren LaRonde because "she is bright, cares about others and wants the best for those around her," LaRonde said, adding, she also "has big ideas and continues to overcome some of her fears to advocate for herself and how to make Havre High great for everyone."
Maya said she plans on helping kids in need, public speaking, or opening up her own school.
The other HHS May student of the month is Sammy Lovenguth, also a sophomore.
The daughter of Jessica and Eric Schweigert, Sammy has three siblings, T.J., 20, and Hunter, Lovenguth, 17, and Tucker Schweigert, 13.
Sammy participates in both softball and volleyball, in addition to being a member of the Spanish club. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with friends and camping.
Sammy was nominated by Colleen Patera "because she tries her best in everything she does," Patera said. Patera said Sammy "is a very responsible, motivated and friendly person with a smile for everyone she sees in the halls of Havre High."
Sammy plans on going to Washington State University for med school.
