The 2019 Montana State University-Northern cross country season is still a few months away, but the Lights and Skylights are adding some exciting new runners.
Northern head coach Chad Spangler recently announced the signing of three new runners to the 2019 Northern recruiting class.
The Lights added Dan Kirwa, who will transfer from Northwest Kansas Technical College. Dan has two years of collegiate experience and will have an immediate impact on the Men's team. He will major in Diesel Technology.
Also joining the men's team is Gabriel Strader is a senior at Missoula Loyola. Gabe is still developing as a distance runner and will look to get some experience his first season and start contributing the following years. Gabe will major in Automotive Technology.
On the women's side, Allison Tigert will add to a large group of returners. Allie is freshman from Vacaville, Calif. and should really push our top runners. Allie has started her pre-season training and is running fast. She's going to be a key member of the women's team this fall. Allie will major in Nursing.
The Lights and Skylights open their season Sept. 6 at the Carroll Early Bird Invitational in Helena. Northern will also host the Battle of the Border again this year. That meet against Central Wyoming is slated for Sept. 28.
