Set Free Ministry Day in the Park set May 18

Set Free Ministries is again inviting people to A Day in the Park.

The fifth annual Havre Day in the Park put on by Set Free Christian Fellowship will be in Pepin Park from noon to 3 p.m.

The theme for the outreach this year is Burgers, Bicycles and Bibles. A youth group from Set Free Great Falls is coming again to put on a puppet show for all the kids. The event also features music, games, prizes, a bouncy house, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, a huge barbecue with all the fixings.

In the past years, the event served about 400 hamburgers and 200 hot dogs, 400 snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy.

“We serve until it is all gone,” Set Free Ministries Havre Pastor A.J. Jensen said. “We do this each year to to show the love of Christ to the community, we have fun talking about Jesus. This is a way to let all know that Jesus loves them and there is a purpose for life.

This year, Day in the Park will have about 25 bicycles to give away through a raffle. All kids from ages 1 to 16 can put in for a bicycle of their, choice, and, “of course, all kids will get a book on the greatest story ever told — the Bible,” Jensen said.

“We will be having a Bike Blessing,” he added. “Set Free Servants for Christ, Motorcycle Ministry, will be on hand to bless anyone’s bike for the upcoming riding season.’”

“The best part is all things are free,” he said, “all.”
