Local Golf Report: Ladies league now started at Prairie

The Class B-C high school golf season has been a rough one of late, with so much weather not cooperating. However, after last weekend’s Chinook Invitational at the Chinook Golf Club, the Sugarbeeters and other area teams are next gearing up for state.

Chinook, and other area Class C schools will head to the Double Arrow Resort Course in Seeley Lake next week for the 2019 Class C state tournament. Meanwhile, next week, Rocky Boy, Harlem and all Class B schools will be in Missoula for the 2019 Class B State Tournament, hosted at King Ranch and Canyon River golf courses. Back on the homefront, the last two late spring snowstorms haven’t gotten in the way of men’s league golf.

But last week was also the kickoff for the ladies at Prairie Farms Golf Course, as they got their women's league underway Thursday night.

In the first night of league, Rock Solid and Independence Bank tied for high-team honors with 19.5 points. Ali Ward was low gross with a 40 and Julie Mariani was low net with a 33.5.

Last Tuesday night at Prairie Farms Golf Course, in men's league action, Patrick Construction scored 26 points to take home high-team honors. The team was made up of Brett Patrick, Dave Clausen, Dave Armstrong and Ken Wagner. Kyle Sheppard was low gross with a one-over 37, while Wagner was low net with a 35.

Last Wednesday saw Havre Ford take high team with 22.5 points. Steve and Pete Steinmetz, Dr. Kevin Harada and Dave Boles composed the team. Jeremy Jensen fired a one-under 35 for low gross, while Mike Kellam was low net with a 30.5.
