June 1 on people must follow ordinances or be fined
Havre Public Works Department has announced that, due to the city’s workload, it will only be operating the brush chipper through the month of May.
After May 31, if a property owner would like tree branch removal they must follow the City Ordinance 8-3-6 (E) which states all branches and shrubbery to be cut and bundled in 4-foot lengths for disposal. The city asks that the bundles be placed near the trash cans but not to block access to driveways or garage doors.
For all other disposal the landfill has an area set aside for branch disposal.
A violation of any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor and a fine in an amount not exceeding $300 for each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue.
People with questions are asked to contact the Public Works Office at 265-4941.
