The organizers of Van Orsdel United Methodist Church’s Koats for Kids program is holding a Crunch for a Cause fundraiser Thursday.
The church has put on the program for decades, providing coats to children in need. The program usually focuses on providing coats to children from Head Start age through grade five.
The program used to go through Herberger’s, which provided a discount for Koats for Kids, but now is going to Walmart to buy the coats.
The program organizers buy coats whenever they are needed to distribute.
This Thursday at the Crunch for a Cause fundraiser, whenever someone making a purchase at Havre’s Taco John’s from 5 to 7 p.m. says they are donating, 50 percent of the purchase price will go to Koats for Kids.
