Havre Police Protective Association donates $400 to Senior Week

The Havre Police Protective Association donated $400 Thursday to Havre High School's senior class to help the students fund their annual Senior Week.

Senior Week will be May 19-25 and will have events, activities and prizes throughout the week, such as baccalaureate, fishing and hiking, game nights, live music and costume contests.

Havre High School Class President Senior Megan Whitford, 18, said that Senior Week is about students being able to spend their last week with their classmates in a fun, exciting environment.

She added that this year, with all the donations they have received, the prizes are going to be larger. Whitford said that the class wants to get prizes the students will be able to take with them to college, such as TVs or computers, and every student will be able to win a prize.

Whitford said that she was excited for Senior Week as well as graduation and the donations are very helpful and appreciated.

Havre Police Department School Resource Officer Jordan Chroniger said Senior Week is one of many programs the association donates to. He said that the money they raise with their fundraisers throughout the year go back into the community, such as the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program and Shop with a Cop at Christmas. The association also uses the funds collected to sponsor scholarships for graduating students.

Whitford said she also wanted to thank the businesses, organizations, institutions and individuals who have donated to Senior Week.
