Searching for Easter egg hunts?

Plenty happening in area

Children in the area who want to hunt for Easter eggs over the Easter weekend have plenty of opportunities.

Some of the opportunities start early, including Friday with a hunt at the Rudyard town park starting at 11 a.m. and at Havre’s Timber Creek Village off of U.S. Highway 2 West at 155 24th St. The hunts start at 2 p.m. for ages 1 to 3, 3 p.m. for ages 4 to 7, and 4 p.m. for ages 8 to 10. Children must be accompanied by an adult at the Timber Creek event.

Havre High School Key Club is holding its annual March of Dimes Easter Egg Hunt Saturday starting at 11 a.m. on the soccer fields south of the high school. The event is for children ages 1 to 9, and Key Club will accept free-will donations that will go to March of Dimes work for research on and prevention of preterm and low-birth-weight babies.

Another Saturday event is the annual Havre Jaycees-Havre Eagles Easter egg hunt. The hunt, in three age groups, starts at 1 p.m. at Eagles Park at First Street and 18th Avenue. A celebration with food and games will be held after the hunt at the Havre Eagles Club at 202 First Street.

Chinook’s Sweet Memorial Nursing Home also is holding a hunt Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. “on the dot.” The search will be broken up with different age groups searching in different parts of the facility, with sections set for ages zero to 3, 4 to 5, 6 to 7 and 8 to 10.

Big Sandy’s Rotary Club is continuing its four-decade or more tradition also Saturday. It will hold a hunt at the Big Sandy Airport starting “promptly at 1 p.m.” The hunt will be divided into areas for age groups, with sections set for infant to preschool, kindergarten to first grade, second grade to third grade and fourth to fifth grade. The Easter Bunny also will be at the hunt.

Martin’s Store in Hays also is holding a hunt Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. sharp in Martins’ field by the store.

The Optimist Easter egg hunt is Easter Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at Optimist Park, Boulevard Avenue and Ninth Street West in Highland Park. The hunt is set for three age groups with 2,000 eggs died for the event and every child will receive a prize.

Also Sunday at 1 p.m., Montana State University-Northern’s Inter Organizational Council will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at the Student Union Building lawn on campus.
