Nominations sought for ag leader and ag advocate

From Havre Area Chamber of Commerce

The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee is sponsoring two Ag Awards, the “Outstanding Agricultural Advocate and Leader” awards to be presented at the NARC Field Day/Agricultural Appreciation Dinner at the Northern Ag Research Center on June 27. The day will include the many field day activities and tours along with the BBQ and the Chamber Ag Committee’s two annual awards.

The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee began the Ag Leader and Advocate Awards 19 years ago, in order to celebrate the contributions made by producers in our rural communities and who have contributed to the strength and vitality of agriculture. In 2000, Gregg Carlson was the Advocate award recipient and Leslie and Terri Kaercher received the Leader award.

Miller Farms received the Agricultural Leader Award for 2018. The Ag Advocate Award is given to honor those members of our community who may not be actively involved in the day to day operations of farming and ranching, but have shown leadership in helping Agriculture remain Montana’s top industry. Lance Johnson received this 2018 award.
