MDT proposes project on U.S. 2 west of Havre

From Montana Department of Transportation

The Montana Department of Transportation would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to reseal about 7.1 miles of U.S. Highway 2 west of Havre in Hill County.

The project begins about 0.4 miles east of the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Smith Fresno Road South at reference post 372.1 and extends east for 7.1 miles, ending 0.2 miles west of the intersection of U.S. 2 and U.S. Highway 87 at reference post 379.1.

Proposed work includes crack sealing, seal and cover, and upgraded pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to add skid resistance and extend the life of the roadway by sealing the surface.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.

No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
