Havre Police Department

A Tuesday 10:41 a.m. report of blood in a hotel room was referred to another agency.

A 15-year-old was issued a summons on charges of possession of both drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs after a Seventh Avenue caller reported three juveniles were smoking something in a backpack Tuesday at 7:16 p.m.

Someone at Sunnyside School reported Tuesday at 8:27 p.m. that occupants of a van were taking pictures of kids at the school.

--

A caller on the south end of Fifth Avenue reported at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday that people in a white van stole a backpack from a boy.

Officers were asked to provide assistance restraining a patient on 13th Street Tuesday 9:16 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Deputies were asked to provide assistance to another agency Tuesday at 10:53 a.m.

Ronald Dale Stump Sr. of Box Elder, 57, was arrested on a state District Court warrant at Hill County Detention Center Tuesday at 11:29 a.m.

Deputies investigated a report of a discharged firearm called in from Fourth Avenue in Hingham Tuesday at 7:27 p.m. Sheriff Jamie Ross said a man who suffers from mental and emotional issues discharged the firearm after he thought he heard an intruder. The man was transported to Northern Montana Hospital after the incident.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to two calls Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the 1900 Block of Second Street Northeast for a downed power line Tuesday at 10:17 a.m. NorthWestern Energy was called in and cleared firefighters to leave the scene as they repaired the problem.

Firefighters were called to a gas leak reported at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 600 Block of 14th Avenue. The fire crew detected a gas smell and turned off the gas at the meter until NorthWestern Energy arrived to repair the problem.

Havre Animal Shelter

The Havre shelter this morning held three medium-hair cats, one long-hair 8-month-old kitten and a medium-hair 7-month-old kitten all of unknown gender, one medium-hair male cat, one short-hair female cat and one medium-hair female cat. Another 24 cats were being held in the shelter and at a foster as part of the trap-spay/neuter-release program.

The Havre shelter also held this morning three female mixed-breed dogs, female shepherd-Labrador retriever dog, a male mixed-breed 18-week-old puppy, a male pit bull terrier dog and a female Australian cattle dog-blue heeler-border collie dog.
