Sadie Filius, Havre High Track
It’s been a big month for Havre High freshman Sadie Filius. First, she helped the Blue Ponies win the Class A state championship, while earning All-State honors in her first year of basketball. On Saturday, she began her prep track career by winning the 300 hurdles and placing second in the 100 hurdles at the Glasgow Invitational. Filius was also part of the winning 1,600-meter HHS relay team, and her strong performance helped the Pony girls capture first-place honors in Glasgow.
Reese Bulkley/Jake Huston, Havre High Tennis
Havre High juniors Jake Huston and Reese Bulkley wasted little time in getting the HHS tennis season started on the right foot. The doubles partners won two No. 1 doubles matches at Saturday’s Conrad Invitational, defeating strong teams from both Cut Bank, and arch rival Lewistown. Huston, who also excels in basketball for HHS, and Bulkley, who plays quarterback for the Pony football team, have been doubles partners since their freshman season and are ready for a big year on the tennis court.
