From Montana Department of Transportation
Montana Department of Transportation is notifying the public and seeking comments on a proposal to improve the roadway surfacing along Boulevard Avenue and Eighth Avenue West within the city limits of Havre.
The project begins at 11th Street and Boulevard Avenue at reference post 0.257 and extends north to the Eighth Avenue West intersection and continues northeast on Eighth Avenue West, ending at West Secondnd Street at reference post 1.026 for a total of 0.79 miles.
Proposed work includes pulverizing the existing surface, applying new asphalt surfacing and upgrading Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant ramps and culverts where necessary, then finishing with a seal and cover — chip seal — upgraded pavement markings and signage.
The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the roadway and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing roadway.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
No new right-of-way will be needed but utility relocations are required.
