Montana Farm Service Agency has listed upcoming deadlines in programs.
Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP)
Producers who suffer livestock deaths due to an eligible loss condition including eligible adverse weather events, eligible disease and eligible attacks from Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2019, must submit a notice of loss within 30 calendar days of when the loss of livestock is first apparent. Livestock producers suffering livestock losses may submit the notice of loss to FSA by phone, fax, and email or in person.
CRP Spring Managed Grazing Period: March 16 —May 14, 2019
The Conservation Reserve Program 2019 Spring Managed Grazing Period is March 16 to May 14. Livestock must be removed when the calculated AUMs have been utilized but no later than May 14. Summer/Fall Managed Haying and Grazing period begins July 16 following Montana’s Primary Nesting Season and ends no later than Sept. 13 for grazing and Sept. 30 for haying. Producers are reminded to sign up at their local FSA office and complete the required paperwork before conducting any managed haying and/or grazing activity.
Agricultural producers are asked to pick up spring FSA certification maps at the office.
The Hill County Farm Service Agency would like to remind all producers to stop by the office and pick up their spring certification maps.
The spring crop certification deadline is July 15. People are asked to bring in their completed maps and return their signed FSA-578 commodity report to the office before July 15. Acreage reports must be filed for all spring seeded crops.
If people do not report by the deadline, late-file fees will be assessed and physical evidence of the crop must exist and be verified by a field visit before the report may be accepted. It is important to promptly report any changes in the farming operation to FSA. These changes can include, but are not limited to, changes in address, phone, or email, name changes, changes to entity membership or shares, formation or dissolution of any entity such as a trust, partnership, LLC, LLP or corporation that owns or operates land or owns other farming assets used in the operation, sale or purchase of land, adding or dropping leases, and any changes to financing or equipment.
