Lifetime Havre resident Corey Johnson, 70, passed away March 23, 2019, at Northern Montana Care Center.
A service will be held at Fifth Avenue Christian Church, 2015 Fifth Ave., Havre, Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Corey was born Dec. 28, 1948, to Clarence and Katheren Johnson. He was born with cerebral palsy, which presented him a lifetime of challenges. He faced each one with determination and a big smile.
Corey has been associated with Havre Day Activity Center for 50-plus years. He lived at home until age 49. After that, he lived in group homes managed by Havre Day.
Corey liked being busy and participating in as many activities as possible. His hobbies included completing puzzles and giving them to friends and family, riding his bike, anything Elvis - music, movies and clothes - eating M&Ms and NASCAR - Go Jimmy Johnson #48.
He is survived by his brother Jon Johnson of Havre, sister, Karla (Bob) Arndt of Great Falls, and nieces and nephews, Shannon Partridge, Shane (Sherri) Johnson, Modesty (Chris) Caven, Michelle (Tim) Kinsella, Jimmy Johnson, Allen Johnson, Bill (Jeri) Johnson, Karmen (Matt) Harris and Shelby (Ben) Trachik, and their children.
Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents Tom and Hilda Furlong; his parents, Clarence and Katheren Johnson, and his brothers Dennis and Terry Johnson.
His family would like to thank the staff at Havre Day and the caregivers at his group home for their compassionate care of Corey, and also thank Dr. Harada and the nurses at the hospital and care center.
