A local group is holding a meeting Friday, March 22, to talk about creating what they call Montana’s first farmer-owned hemp cooperative, and are inviting interested agricultural producers to attend.
A press release said the objectives of creating a farmer-owned cooperative include:
• Group bargaining power
• Lower transaction costs in getting loans,
• Access to information.
• Power and control over production, inputs and land use,
• Educational classes in; production, post-harvest handling, business and out-put product marketing.
The meeting will start at 10 a.m. in the Blaine County Library Meeting Room March 22.
