Four Blue Pony boys earn Central A basketball All-Conference honors

Following the completion of the Class A state boys basketball tournament this past weekend in Great Falls, postseason honors were announced and the Havre High boys basketball team had a number of players who were recognized.

While the Blue Ponies didn't have anyone earn All-State honors this season in Class A, Kellen Detrick was close and still managed to bring home First-Team All-Conference honors in the Central A after a stellar sophomore season that saw him average 14 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Joining him on the First Team were Tanner Trafton and Jaden Graham of Lewistown, Brendon Johnson of Livingston and Easton Page of Belgrade. Trafton, Graham and Johnson were each named All-State.

Another Havre player who earned All-Conference honors was senior Tommy Brown, who was named Second-Team All-Conference in the Central A. Brown, who ran the point for HHS last season scored 8.1 points per game to go along with 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds. He also shot 38 percent from 3-point range, which trailed only Detrick who hit on 43 percent of his 3-pointers.

Not to be left out, Jake Huston and Mason Rismon both were named Honorable Mention All-Conference, which came after breakout seasons for both juniors. Huston came off the bench for part of the season for Havre before becoming a starter later in the year and in both roles, he flourished. When the season was over, he was the Ponies' second-leading scorer with 9.3 ppg. He also averaged nearly two assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Rismon also made a solid impact this season for Havre in his first season as a starter under first-year head coach Walynn Burgess. Rismon is a solid defender and on the offensive end, he averaged just over seven points a game, as well as 5.1 rebounds.
