Montana Seed Show starts Thursday in Harlem

The 70th Annual Montana Seed show will be running Thursday through Saturday, March 14-16, at Harlem High School.

Thursday is all about agriculture with entry and judging of the wool fleeces, grain, legume, grass and potato and woodworking projects. The public is welcome to attend the judging portion, which starts at 2 p.m., to watch the process and ask the judges questions as they are evaluating the entries.

Friday and Saturday, the Seed Show will be in full swing, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with the addition of blood screenings and breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. both days. Friday evening will also see pancake supper, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and art auction at 7 p.m. The Seed Show will wrap up Saturday night with the prime rib and shrimp banquet and special entertainment at 7 p.m.

Along with the judging of pie and bread exhibitors, Friday and Saturday will have the art and quilt shows, pie and bread auctions and ag speakers, 9 a.m. to noon, brought in by the Montana State University Blaine County Extension Office. Friday’s presentations will focus on livestock and Saturday’s on crops.

Saturday will also include kid’s activities 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a classic car show starting at 10 a.m. and a sheep to shawl demonstration starting at 10 a.m.
