Dianna Fay Johnson, daughter of Orville Powell and Doris Fisher, passed away March 7, 2019 at the Sweet memorial nursing home of natural causes at the age of 73.
Dianna was born February 17, 1946 in Havre, Mt. She grew up in Cow Creek south of Chinook, MT. and was primarily raised by her grandmother, Lucille Powell.
Dianna met James A. Halseth at the age of 16 and they were married shortly after. They had three children together, Jimmy Jay, Sandra, and Vickii, also, a stepdaughter, Sharron, from a previous marriage. Together, they bought and ran the Cleveland Bar South of Chinook in 1984. They later divorced.
Years later, Dianna met Dennis Johnson of Chinook, Mt. Dennis and Dianna were married in December of 2001. Dennis and Dianna enjoyed camping and fishing together. Dianna enjoyed gardening and canning as well as cooking wonderful meals and baking sweet treats for her granddaughters.
Dianna was preceded in death by her mother, father, grandmother, and husband Dennis Johnson.
She is survived by her first husband and good friend James Halseth, her three children, Jimmy Jay Halseth, Sandra Sorensen, and Vicki McArthur; her half-sister, Carol Fisher, and half-brother, Spencer Powell; her eight grandchildren, Blair, Robert, Megan, Annie, Kylee, Grace, Brogan, and Kale; one great-grandson, Hero, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins of the Powell family she grew up with.
Per Dianna's request no services will be held, however, her ashes will be spread this coming summer in one of the very special places she held close to her heart, Cow Creek. The family will also be arranging a celebration of life later in the year.
