Stacey was born on January 21, 1978, in Havre to Sharon Schmockel and Leon Azure. She was raised in Havre and attended Havre Schools. Stacey remained in Havre, making her home and raising her children there. In 2013, Stacey moved to Billings, where she resided until her passing.

Stacey loved animals and enjoyed her time as a pet grooming assistant. She barrel raced around the state and won numerous awards and prizes over the years. Cooking was another talent of Stacey's and she often made Asian-inspired dishes, her specialty was beef and broccoli.

Spending time with her children was a priority for Stacey and she would play video games with them for hours. She was the caretaker of her family and was there for everyone, making it a point to check in and keep in touch. Stacey could be counted on to always have your back and stuck up for anyone she felt was being treated unfairly. She was playful, had a great sense of humor and was funny without ever trying to be.

Stacey was preceded in death by her father, Leon Azure.

She is survived by her mother, Sharon Schmockel of Havre; children, R.J. Meiwald Jr. of Havre, Aubrey Meiwald (Darnell Lefthand) of Crow Agency and Nevaeh Chinadle of Missoula; brothers, Adrian Walls of WA, and Matthew and Mitch Winchell; sister, Melissa Winchell; and numerous cousins she considered brothers and sisters.
