The Havre Ice Hawks hockey program is hanging another state championship banner in the Havre Ice Dome, thanks to its Pee Wee team.
Last weekend in Miles City, the Ice Hawks captured their second straight 12U state championship winning the B division title with an 8-1 victory over Bozeman in the championship game. The Ice Hawks entered the state tournaments as the No. 1 seed.
Within their five-team tournament the Ice Hawks were up against Flathead, Great Falls and two Bozeman teams. They came out of pool play undefeated, heading to the chipper Sunday afternoon to play the Bozeman-Kitowaski team. The Ice Hawks ended up beating Bozeman 8-1, to bring home the first place trophy and Banner for the second time in as many seasons.
Rounding out their 38 total goals scored over the weekend, Trayden Riley came home with 14 while Austin Boyce had 10 overall. Other multi-goal scorers were: Jerek Dees, Callen Stoner, and Paisley Branden, along with many other single goal scorers. Between the three goalies (Paisley Branden, Levi Benjamin and Rogan Sayers), they only allowed 13 total goals through the net in the five games played.
