Havre Middle School's Sixth-Grade Student of the Month for January is Ethan Stortz.
Ethan is the son of Darren and Lynette Stortz. He has one brother, Aaron Stortz.
Ethan plays percussion in the middle school band. He puts forth extra effort in his studies, which shows in his high GPA. In his spare time Ethan loves to play basketball, baseball and golf. Ethan is also active in his youth group and looks forward to camping trips with his family.
In the classroom, Ethan has a positive attitude and is nice to everyone around him. His teachers comment on how he always exercises good judgement and is very trustworthy. He is a mentor to his peers and uses his success to assists them in any way possible. He demonstrates HMS' "Code of Character" in everything he does at the middle school.
In the future Ethan's dream is to attend MIT and become an engineer. He also hopes to play in the NBA.
January's Seventh-Grade Student of the Month at HMS is Terek Shipp.
Terek's parents are Brent and Paulette Shipp. He has one brother, Tyler Shipp.
Terek's focus at school is academics and this is reflected by his outstanding GPA. He is driven to do his best and is always challenging himself to do more. In addition to school, Terek likes to fish, hunt and play baseball. Terek also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
As a student, Terek is very respectable and hard working. Teachers praise him on how focused he is on striving to do his best. Terek always has a great attitude and is willing to help out whenever needed. These qualities he possesses represent what it means to have "Pony Pride."
Terek's future goal is to excel in school, attend college and become drafted into the MLB.
Alivia Reed is HMS' Eighth-Grade Student of the Month for January.
Alivia's parents are Zane Reed and Chelsea Sorensen. She has eight brothers and sisters.
Alivia is a very active student who participates in band, choir and cross country. She strives to maintain a high GPA and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Outside of school Alivia enjoys playing piano, reading, running and acting in plays. She also loves spending time with her twin sister, waterskiing and watching movies with her family.
At the middle school, Alivia is extremely polite and has a very kind spirit. She is dedicated to do her best and strives for a higher understanding of concepts taught. Teachers commend her on being reliable and having the ability to handle any task at hand. Her compassion makes Havre Middle School a great place for everyone.
Alivia's future plan is to attend Brigham Young University and become an actress.
